Day 330: November 26, 2011

I am thankful for the opportunity to share my passion of biking riding with Darrell. He started training for the 2012 Bike MS ride with me this summer, and I've enjoyed every ride with him. It is nice to have a riding buddy. And we've had some good conversations and made some good memories on the road. I'm looking forward to many more!

Day 319: November 15, 2011

I am thankful that I am healthy, and able to enjoy running and riding my bike. It is not only a great way to get exercise, but fun to do with family and friends!

Day 298: October 25, 2011

Tonight, I attended the Bike MS Awards Dinner for the 2011 Ride. Team Deloitte won an award for most growth from the 2010 ride to the 2011 ride! I accepted the award with honor.

I am proud to be the captain of Team Deloitte, which raised over $20,000 for the National MS Society and is one of the Top 20 Fundraisers for the second consecutive year. I can't wait to see what the 2012 Bike MS Ride will bring. It is sure to be a good ride!

Day 261: September 18, 2011

This weekend, I did a 30 mile bike ride in Greenville, Texas, which is about an hour outside of Dallas. It was a prefect day for a bike ride.

Finish line!

My mom (and biggest cheerleader) came along for the festivities. Thanks, Mom!

Day 226: August 14, 2011

This weekend, I joined Darrell as he test drove a new bike. We did a couple laps around White Rock Lake at 2pm in the afternoon, and needless to say it was HOT. It is our tradition to grab Starbucks after our rides together; iced coffee never tasted so good.

Day 212: July 31, 2011

I went on two bike rides this weekend. To beat the record setting Texas heat, we had to start early!

Saturday, I rode with a girl friend, Amy, around the lake twice and up the trail once, for a total of nearly 40 miles.

Sunday, Darrell and I did two laps around the lake for nearly 20 miles, making my weekend total just about 60 miles.

Day 176: June 25, 2011

On Saturday morning, I met up with four of my cycle friends for a bike ride. We did a lap around White Rock Lake, went up the White Rock North Trail and back, and did another lap around the lake for a good 35 mile ride.

Day 162: June 11, 2011

Collin Classic Bike Ride 2011

Darrell and I rode in the Collin Classic Bike Ride, Darrell's second bike rally.

The weather was perfect. The route took us through historic Mesquite, which had some beautiful restored houses, along country roads, where I was chased by two big dogs, and through corn and wheat fields, where Darrell and I had to stop for a picture as it reminded me of my recent visit to my Uncle's farm in MN.

Day 155: June 4, 2011

Darrell rode in his first bike rally on Saturday, the Mesquite Texas Rodeo Bike Ride.

We did the 33k route, which ended up being a bit longer (around 23 miles), due to the mislabeled route.

We had a great ride! The weather was perfect, no wind. But it sure was toasty! I'm so happy Darrell is enjoying riding. I sure do enjoy sharing my love for riding with him. I'm sure this will be the first of many, many bike rallies.

Day 147: May 27, 2011

This weekend, Darrell and I went for a ride around White Rock Lake.
I love riding with Darrell and I'm so proud that he is training so hard for the 2012 MS 150!

Day 141: May 21, 2011

Today I rode in the WildRide! Against Cancer, in Richardson, TX. It was my first big ride after the MS 150 a few weeks ago. I met up with a few of my cycle friends- it was great seeing everyone!

I did the 40 mile route. The last 10 miles or so were in the rain/mist, which made the bike ride interesting. I had a great pace and hit a solid average mph for the distance.

Day 121: May 1, 2011

Due to the unpredictable Texas weather, Day 2 of the MS 150 was cancelled. I was bummed but I made the best of it.

I got a much deserved pedicure- pink flamenco!

I bought a couple new pairs of shoes.

It would have been more fun to ride 76 miles and finish what I started. However, I'm looking forward to next year's MS 150.

Day 120: April 30, 2011

The ride weekend I've been training for finally arrived- the MS 150!

Team Deloitte

Day 1-84 miles

I finished with my best ride yet!

The team sang "Happy Birthday" to Grandma. I'm so glad she spent her birthday celebrating with the team at the end of Day 1 of the MS 150.

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Day 113: April 23, 2011

On Saturday, I went for a 46 mile bike ride with a few cycle friends, it was the last big ride before MS 150!

This was a new route for me, down through Mesquite and Sunnyvale and back up to Dallas. It was a good ride.

Day 111: April 21, 2011

I took my bike to get tuned up before the MS 150 bike ride on April 30 and May 1.

My wall looked so bare and empty without my bike hanging up.

I went and picked up bike from repair shop today and now my wall is once again home to my bike.

We're ready for the 2011 MS 150!

Day 107: April 17, 2011

I went for a short birthday ride, 34 miles. The MS 150 is less than two weeks away!

I spent Sunday afternoon with my Mom, Grandma and Darrell celebrating my birthday. I opened by birthday presents. Frankie even gave me a card!

Darrell grilled steaks and my Mom baked me a home-made chocolatecake with home-made chocolate icing.

Day 106: April 16, 2011

I continued to celebrate my birthday by going on a sponsored bike ride. I put a birthday hat on my helmet and put birthday decorations on my bike. Throughout the 60 mile ride, many people sang and wished me a happy birthday. It was so much fun!

Saturday evening, the firm I work for hosted an End of Busy Season Party at the House of Blues. It was fun to see all of my co-workers. The theme was casino night. I had fun playing craps most of the night. I even had a few good rolls.

Day 101: April 11, 2011

I've been cycling a lot this spring, training for the MS 150. My cycle gloves have left me with less than to be desired tan lines. I attempted to fix the aforementioned tan lines with spray tan. The first time I used it, it turned out nicely, however the tan line was still noticeable. I should have stopped there. So, thinking that if it worked once, I could do it again. The second time didn't work out near as well as the first. I ended up with less than desired results. I think from now on, I'll wear my tan lines with pride, as a badge of cycle honor.

Day 99: April 9, 2011

I did the Lancaster Country Ride on Saturday. The ride itself is a beautiful 63 mile ride through Blue Bonnet Trail, with some good climbs and I even saw some wildlife along the way! However, the wind was 20mph+ with even stronger gusts, which made this country ride a challenge.

I felt like this camel after I finished the long and windy ride.
