Day 86: March 27, 2011
2011 Rock'n'Roll Half Marathon
Mom's such a great cheerleader. She came with me and cheered me on as I crossed the start line.
I met up with an old running buddy, Joel, who paced me for the first 7.5 miles. We had a great run together.
Afterwards, my knees were burning. But I felt great that I accomplished my race goal and even set a personal record! Third half-marathon is the charm.
I had a great time. I'm already looking forward to running in this race again next year. It's a tradition now!

I went for a short 30 mile bike ride before work Saturday. Hopefully this is the last Saturday I have to go to work this busy season!

In just 83 days, work will be the furthest thing from my mind and my biggest decision will be what book to read while lounging on the beach. I can't wait!

To Frankie, she's GiGi. To me, she's Grandma.
She has an abundance of love to pour out to each of us. She's a beautiful woman, who loves her family, furry ones included, more than anything. And Frankie adores her.
There's no love like a Grandma's love.

It's Daylight Savings Time! I left work Friday night a little after 7pm. I had not seen the evening sun all week, so I was happily surprised that it was still shining! I'm looking forward to shorter days at work so that I can enjoy the longer daylight hours.

Frankie likes to explore my parents' yard. Even where he isn't allowed, Darrell's garden! At least he's cute, he gets in less trouble that way.

Sunday was the usual donut ride (sans donuts) plus a little extra to hit 25 miles. That makes my weekend total 75 miles!
Day 71: March 12, 2011
Saturday was the perfect day for a bike ride. I rode 50 miles! I rode the first 30 miles with the Richardson Bikemart riders and managed to keep up pace with them! Then, I rode an additional 20 miles down part of the White Rock Lake North Trail and back. It was a good ride!

I'm fortunate enough to be the daughter and granddaughter of two amazing cooks and bakers. I've spent hours in the kitchen with my Mom and Grandma, both whom have taught me everything I know about cooking and baking. And we've made some good memories, too.
Mom made this delicious Coconut Cream Cheesecake this weekend. It tasted as good as it looks.

Sunday was a great day for a bike ride. The weather was beautiful! I rode around White Rock Lake.
I love the view of the city from the trail around the lake.

On Saturday before I went to work, I ran in a 5k with my friend Jessica. Although it was a cold morning for a run, we had a blast. And it was for a great cause too, a mission in Mexico. I'm so proud of Jessica, she's just getting back into running and doing great! She'll be running half-marathons soon, I know it! Jessica, since we didn't get a picture of us together for this run, we're going to have to run in another race together soon, and get a picture!

Lexi, my car, went wacko on Friday. I look her into the dealership to get fixed up. In the meantime, I'm driving her newer sister, a 2010 RX 350.
Frankie likes to drive it too! We're both trying to ward off 'new car fever'.

I remember selling these tasty treats when I was a Girl Scout. As a busy season treat, my mom picked me up a box of my favorite Girl Scout cookies! Thanks, Mom!

I got off work 'early' Wednesday night, which was perfect because that was the night the Texas Aggies and Kansas Jayhawks played each other in basketball. I went to my parent's house to watch the game with my favorite man to watch sports with, Darrell. I love watching games with him, even when his team kicks my team's butt!

On Monday, the partner of my engagement at work took the team out to lunch to Babe's Chicken!

Before I went to work on Sunday, I went for a bike ride. It was a beautiful day to ride. I did 36.77 miles in the Tour de Plano. It was a good ride.

There's not much better than a good meal, with good wine, and good company. And I have the best company, a loving family. I'm so blessed.

You know you're an auditor in the middle of busy season when, on Friday night, you're happy that you get off work 'early' and you can be in bed, fast asleep before the time that you'd normally get off work.
The end of busy season can't get here fast enough!
