Day 120: April 30, 2011

The ride weekend I've been training for finally arrived- the MS 150!

Team Deloitte

Day 1-84 miles

I finished with my best ride yet!

The team sang "Happy Birthday" to Grandma. I'm so glad she spent her birthday celebrating with the team at the end of Day 1 of the MS 150.

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Day 119: April 29, 2011

I got up at 5am on Friday to watch live the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Kate looked beautiful in her wedding dress fit for a princess.

What a happy couple and a beautiful royal wedding!

Day 118: April 28, 2011

In the NFL Draft, Aggie football player Von Miller was drafted by the Denver Broncos!

Gig'Em Aggies!

Day 117: April 27, 2011

For the end of audit dinner, the engagement team partner took the entire audit team to Dino's Steak and Clawhouse! The dinner was delicious. Fun was had by all!

Day 116: April 26, 2011

The life of a dog... Frankie loves to curl up on a pillow or a blanket and make himself comfortable.

Day 115: April 25, 2011

Technology still amazes me.

I got a device to add to my iPhone that turns my phone into a universal remove. It works like a charm. What will they come up with next?

Day 114: April 24, 2011

Happy Easter!

Day 113: April 23, 2011

On Saturday, I went for a 46 mile bike ride with a few cycle friends, it was the last big ride before MS 150!

This was a new route for me, down through Mesquite and Sunnyvale and back up to Dallas. It was a good ride.

Day 112: April 22, 2011

On Friday night, I met a couple girlfriends for sushi!

We had a great time catching up over delicious rolls!

Day 111: April 21, 2011

I took my bike to get tuned up before the MS 150 bike ride on April 30 and May 1.

My wall looked so bare and empty without my bike hanging up.

I went and picked up bike from repair shop today and now my wall is once again home to my bike.

We're ready for the 2011 MS 150!

Day 110: April 20, 2011

Grandma and Frankie

It is adorable how he jumps right up on her laps and curls up. Grandma's lap was made for that dog.

Day 109: April 19, 2011

Let the countdown begin...T-Minus 23 days until I get to rolloff my current client and move on to new and better opportunities! I couldn't be more excited to see what the future holds.

Day 108: April 18, 2011

I love my new sun hat- I can't wait to wear it on the beach! And I love that adorable pup!

Day 107: April 17, 2011

I went for a short birthday ride, 34 miles. The MS 150 is less than two weeks away!

I spent Sunday afternoon with my Mom, Grandma and Darrell celebrating my birthday. I opened by birthday presents. Frankie even gave me a card!

Darrell grilled steaks and my Mom baked me a home-made chocolatecake with home-made chocolate icing.

Day 106: April 16, 2011

I continued to celebrate my birthday by going on a sponsored bike ride. I put a birthday hat on my helmet and put birthday decorations on my bike. Throughout the 60 mile ride, many people sang and wished me a happy birthday. It was so much fun!

Saturday evening, the firm I work for hosted an End of Busy Season Party at the House of Blues. It was fun to see all of my co-workers. The theme was casino night. I had fun playing craps most of the night. I even had a few good rolls.

Jessica and me at the party

Day 105: April 15, 2011

I started celebrating my 25th birthday on Friday by taking the day off of work! I went to lunch with my Mom and Grandma. We had a lovely time! I can't believe they fit 25 candles on that cake!

For my birthday dinner, my parents treated to the Melting Pot!

Day 104: April 14, 2011

Dallas got hit with a huge hail storm, look at all of the hail in my parent's backyard! Frankie was not a fan of the loud noise the hail made on the carports at my apartment complex. He's a true weenie.

Day 103: April 13, 2011

Frankie was having a ball with this ball of bones!

Tuesday, April 12, 2011

Day 102: April 12, 2011

Just give the dog a bone...even if it is bigger than him!

Day 101: April 11, 2011

I've been cycling a lot this spring, training for the MS 150. My cycle gloves have left me with less than to be desired tan lines. I attempted to fix the aforementioned tan lines with spray tan. The first time I used it, it turned out nicely, however the tan line was still noticeable. I should have stopped there. So, thinking that if it worked once, I could do it again. The second time didn't work out near as well as the first. I ended up with less than desired results. I think from now on, I'll wear my tan lines with pride, as a badge of cycle honor.

Day 100: April 10, 2011

I did the Big D 5k on Sunday morning with my friend Jessica and her sweet husband Reed. We had a great time running and the weather was beautiful!

Day 99: April 9, 2011

I did the Lancaster Country Ride on Saturday. The ride itself is a beautiful 63 mile ride through Blue Bonnet Trail, with some good climbs and I even saw some wildlife along the way! However, the wind was 20mph+ with even stronger gusts, which made this country ride a challenge.

I felt like this camel after I finished the long and windy ride.

Day 98: April 8, 2011

On Friday, I met a few co-workers for happy hour at a new bar called Katy Trail Ice House. We spent a significant chuck of time traveling back and fourth to New Mexico on an engagement together, but now we're all on new clients. It was fun to get together and relive our ABQ experiences.

Some ABQ Memories:

Audit Room

Sandia Mountains

The Weatherman (and his dogs) on Halloween

Day 97: April 7, 2011

I spent Thursday night catching up on episodes of my favorite TV show, Grey's Anatomy.

The great feeling of getting off work at a normal time and having an evening still hasn't worn off yet.

Day 96: April 6, 2011

After 12 long weeks of busy season, I was much overdue for an adjustment by my chiropractor. A few adjustments later, and I'm back to new again.

Day 95: April 5, 2011

We issued the report only 5 days ago, but the fun never ends in public accounting! We started planning Q1 today.

Day 94: April 4, 2011

Today was my first day of work after busy season ended. I got off work at a 'normal' hour, the sun was still shining, and I had an evening!! It was tough to decide what to do, as I had long dreamed of this day when I was working crazy hours during busy season. I didn't know what to do with my self; should I go workout, meet a friend for dinner, take Frankie for a walk, watch TV, read a book, go shopping? The options were endless. It was almost overwhelming. I decided to just rent a movie from Redbox and spend the evening on the couch with Frankie. I rented "The Switch". It's a chick flick staring Jennifer Aniston, from "Friends". I enjoyed the movie and my first evening post-issuing the report. I look forward to many more to come.

Day 93: April 3, 2011

Although this is normally the Donut Route, it should have been called Windy Route. Today, the winds were a steady 20+ mph with gusts up to 30-40 mph. It was a short 20 mile bike ride, due to the crazy wind.

I hope the weather gods are kind for the MS 150 weekend.

Day 92: April 2, 2011

Tour of Dallas

For the third year in a row, I participated in the Tour of Dallas. It is one of my favorite rides of the cycle season. I love riding through the streets of Dallas with my cycle friends. The ride goes through downtown Dallas, Swiss Avenue Historic District, Lakewood, and White Rock Lake.

Day 91: April 1, 2011

I enjoyed the day off after issuing the report, and that's no April Fool's joke!

Frankie and I spent most of the weekend with our feet (or paws) up and relaxing after a tough busy season. I'm looking forward to life post busy season. There is a LOT to look forward to!
