I grew up loving Disney movies. When The Lion King came to theatres again, I couldn't wait to go see it and relive my childhood.

The movie was just as good as I remembered it. But hakuna matata has a whole new meaning.

Day 245: September 2, 2011

I read The Help while on vacation in Jamaica this summer. I couldn't wait to see how the book was turned into a movie.



My mom and I went to see it together and we both loved the movie! The characters were just like I imagined them when I read the book. I loved the 1960's dresses- maybe I was born in the wrong era.

Day 211: July 30, 2011

The first Harry Potter book came out in 1997, right before I started middle school and ever since then I was hooked to the series. The first movie was released in 2001, while I was a freshman in high school. The final book came out in 2007, when I was a junior in college on an internship living in Houston. The final movie was released this year, 2011, now I'm an adult, graduated from college, with a full time job and working in Dallas. My mom and I read each book and saw every Harry Potter movie together. This past October, we went to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios in Orlando. It was fun sharing our love of the Harry Potter series together.

My mom and I saw the final movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part II and it marks the end of the Harry Potter era. I grew up with Harry Potter. Now, I'm fourteen years older from when the series first began, but I still love the books and movies and it will forever be apart of my childhood.

Day 193: July 12, 2011

I rented Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. The movie was alright, I'm glad I got it from Red Box and only spent $1.

Day 181: June 30, 2011

After it won four Oscars, I wanted to see The King's Speech. I rented it from Redbox (I love it that movies are only $1!!). I think I need to brush up on my British history in order to fully appreciate the movie, but nonetheless, I thought it was a good movie.

Day 178: June 27, 2011

I prefer to read the book before I see the movie. During my Jamaican vacation, I read Water for Elephants. The movie has been out for some time now, so it was already playing at the local dollar theatre. The movie was good, of course it was changed some from the book, but it wasn't changed too much.

I'm looking forward to seeing The Help movie, it comes out in August.

Day 94: April 4, 2011

Today was my first day of work after busy season ended. I got off work at a 'normal' hour, the sun was still shining, and I had an evening!! It was tough to decide what to do, as I had long dreamed of this day when I was working crazy hours during busy season. I didn't know what to do with my self; should I go workout, meet a friend for dinner, take Frankie for a walk, watch TV, read a book, go shopping? The options were endless. It was almost overwhelming. I decided to just rent a movie from Redbox and spend the evening on the couch with Frankie. I rented "The Switch". It's a chick flick staring Jennifer Aniston, from "Friends". I enjoyed the movie and my first evening post-issuing the report. I look forward to many more to come.

No Strings Attached, starring Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher.

My favorite line from the movie: "You make my heart have premature ventricular contractions." In other words, you make my heart skip a beat.

Day 21: January 21, 2011

Friday night was movie night! I rented The Social Network from Redbox. The movie is about the creation of the website Facebook. I remember the day I got Facebook, I was a freshman at Texas A&M University living in the dorms on campus. The university was buzzing about this new website called Facebook where you post a picture and information about yourself and your friends can go read about you. The term "Facebook Me" became a popular expression. It is a good way to keep up with old friends and family scattered across the country.

The movie was interesting, I'd give it a 'B'.

Social media is an increasingly important part of the 21st century and has forever changed the world.

Day 16: January 16, 2011

Sunday night was movie night! I rented Salt from Redbox. It was an action packed movie that kept me on the edge of the couch. The plot and storyline kept me intrigued. I'd recommend this movie, it gets an 'A' from me.
